Great way to brush up on your memory when heading to vegas.
Very nice. Also got free BJ game and noticed improvement after practice :)
Id love to play this until I get 100% correct. Unfortunately, BJ Teacher is not 100% correct yet. Thanks for fixing most of the bugs, but you missed one: Bug: Dealer : 9 Player : A,7 Player : Hit (Card says hit) BJ Teacher : Stand A soft 18 will not beat a dealers 19, so you might as well hit it. Also, I see blackjacks coming out. Will the dealer will let you hit it? I sure hope not! Thanks you for this free app! I just went to AC and I won playing BlackJack!
I tried 4 free BlackJack apps. They are all good, but this one is the best!
I like the app just fine. It would be nice to be able to reset the practice game. Maybe a button under the sound to reset your totals and start game over.
Very easy way to learn basic blackjack strategy. Id love to see the developer come out with another version for Spanish 21
This is a good app for learning BJ strategy but the interface is very bad. Please make it attractive, this is the only reason I do not play it. Otherwise, good for learning!
Youve studied the charts; many games allow you to check your hunches by asking the dealer, but you can reinforce bad habits, especially by winning on incorrect plays. This sweet little program is a way to nail that basic strategy. It only plays the players opening call on the dealers up card, but it moves very quickly. Great while standing waiting on the train, waiting for your lunch appointment to show up, etc. For free, its a steal, but my hope is that the developers will expand the program to a pay version, a version that would allow the user a choice of charts based on different rules and numbers of decks.
Its very functional, but it is not that good looking and there are a few minor changes that could make it much better. When you get an answer wrong, there is no pause for you to look at what the cards were showing, so you cannot figure out what you did wrong. Also, it doesn t have any explanation WHY your answer was wrong. Its a great app to confirm that you already know how to play blackjack, but not as good as it could and should be as far as TEACHING you how to play. But it is free.
Trying to learn Blackjack. The one thing I have to keep reminding myself is Im not trying to get to 21, Im trying to beat the dealer! This app will simulate blackjack hands and ask you what your correct move is. In other words, it will show you the dealer cards and your cards, and ask you if you want to take a hit, stand, split, etc. It will only simulate your first move for some reason, it will not play the hand through to teach you what to do on your second or third moves etc (if applicable). One feature I would like added would be an explanation of why I made the right or worng decision. If I choose "hit", and that is the correct choice, it says something like "good job", and then deals a new hand. If Im not sure why I made the right choice, I then would have to go to the included "cheat sheet" and see why I was correct in taking a hit. It would be nice if it said something like "good job, always take a hit when you have X and the dealer shows Y"
Not always correct with its "corrections". Nice to have a chart handy though to look over when bored.
Great brush up for the real thing.
This is fun to play but because the hands that this program presents are completely random, some of the importand and difficult to remember ones youll never see. Go for the BlackJack Teacher Pro instead.
Always split aces and eights, right? Thats what Ive heard, and also what the card says. Unfortunately the practice teacher insists that I am supposed to hit this when facing an ace from the dealer.
So much and its free... Thou I did end up buying the real version to avoid ads.
Really is helping me out...heading to vegas in a couple weeks and this little app is great practice, could use a few additions mentioned in the other reviews. Overall, great app
Very limited capability...number of decks, options etc. the card is hard to read.
Why would you ever want to split 2s? Or 4s against a 6? This app needs some work.
Splitting 2s against 2-7 and 4s against the 6 is part of the widely accepted blackjack basic strategy chart, which brings the house advantage to about .5% when used strictly and if the other players at the table arent making stupid plays. Now, for the app... It works well, does exactly what it claims to do, and is great for those looking to memorize the simple odds chart. My only real complaint is that it only has you pick the proper play for the hand shown, and moves on to the next. I would like an option to bet and actually finish the hand, it would help to develop other skills like proper waging (if the app uses full decks and the decks arent "shuffled" after each hand), and also builds the patience you need to keep standing on hands like 13/d4 when it doesnt work out several times in a row, which could deter a novice from using this system. Overall, this is a good app for both the inexperienced and experienced players looking to sharpen their skills.
